I think there&#039;s a lot of overlap between what makes something readable for a machine and a computer, which is why the article might seem like it&#039;s aimed at SEO.

For example the use of H1,H2,H3 etc to give a solid document structure for screenreaders to interpret, promote certain keyword rich phrases within some content to search engine spiders, or break the text down into manageable chunks for the visitors. 

These aspects could all be considered individually, or as a &quot;whole&quot;, I think.
