World Usability Day: Chiswick Fireplace Company Visit

by Colette Mason on November 12, 2009

It’s the 12th November, and it’s World Usability. I’ve pre-arranged an appointment so now it’s time to meet the company at their premises.

After a slow journey on public transport (how many more times will they dig up the High Street!), I’ve arrived at The Chiswick Fireplace Company, a London-based supplier and installer of fireplaces.

I don’t know much about fireplaces, I think I was 8 when I last lived in a house with a real fire, so it’s quite a distant memory now:).

I’m looking forward to finding out more about the company themselves- I’ve only seen the website so far, and spoken with one of the owners over a business breakfast when I suggested meeting up, so I need to fill in a lot of blanks. I find it fascinating comparing how a company presents itself “in person”, versus how it presents itself “online”.

I’ve edited this video in the local cafe, Plum Duff – I can recommend their ham and cheese toasted sandwiches – marvellous after that slow journey!  Time to get it uploaded!

Will report back more later.
