World Usability Day: The Brochure

by Colette Mason on November 12, 2009

World Usability Day LogoThe company brochure has been a useful follow up tool for printed advertising campaigns, but, of course, is slower and more expensive than sending a PDF of the brochure.

I’ve videoed the brochure – it’s a 16 page folded and stapled A3 format made of lightweight card.

I have offered to scan in the brochure and turn it into a PDF for them so they can start emailing it immediately. Like a lot of companies, the Chiswick Fireplace Company rely on a third party to do their website updates for them, so they can ask for a link to be added to the brochure request page. I’ll set up a nice 3D image of the electronic brochure to make it attractive and prominent to click on.

Cutting down on the amount of postage and printing will be more environmentally friendly, and remove an office admin burden too.

On the topic of being environmentally friendly, fires now have an energy efficiency rating, just like fridges and freezers - something that could be added to the site for customers looking to make responsible choices.
